It's not as nice on there as they would have everyone believe.

Especially with the way the person I'm thinking of right now talks to people.

*sigh of relief*
If I do decide to get up on Sunday I will just watch...I'm just very grateful to have had some questions answered to date, want to let others have their turn!

That's a lovely attitude to have Barb. I just hope that some of the others who were fortunate in getting their questions answered yesterday will think along the same lines as you (and no Sam or Jen, I don't mean you 2).

I can't be arsed to read the post but I know this has been going on for much to long.
Why can't eveyone just have fun and enjoy coming together (I hate to say it) like the old days
*runs and hides*
Hugs to everyone who feels they are caught in the middle. Don't let other peoples narrow minded thinking get you down.
one day there will be peace *phufft*

Things change Lain and for me, that is okay. I can accept that as time passes people and circumstances change and as a result other things change. I guess that is why so much of what has transpired over the past couple of years hasn't really upset me that much (except for a moment here or there) because I realize that.
I didn't really want to start a whole "b*tch about the fanclub thread" (not to say everyone is b*tch*ng here), so I want to apologize to everyone for posting about something when I was instantly hit with an emotion. I probably should have taken a moment to think a little and do some yoga to calm my mind, lol.
All I really ever wanted, to be honest, and it sounds like that is what others are saying as well, is for there to be more unification and more... I dunno... fun. And that is what really makes me do what I do. I was very very happy to see the transcripts to both chats available to non-members That brought a big smile to my face and although I know that Members may not be pleased... I think it is a great step in the right direction

Laurie I think its really important for you to have a place to come to vent. You are a wonderful modorator and I think your job is one of the hardest.
The SOS was created as a place for us to be able to talk freely without narrow mindedness.
I think we have a great group supportive and damn funny and we are all secure enough to know when someone is making a piss take (I love that saying)
Vent away if your feeling it then there are odds that others are too.
hugs you
Lain

okay my take on the whole f/c thing. In my hey day as a fan when I loved the whole SG thing and loved everyword Darren said.. I would of HAD to of joined the DH fanclub just to be part of chats etc, even though in principle Im against the idea of a paying Message board. I think paying for the magazine and member ticket perks is fair enough. I think its become such a issue in this fanbase because the dynamics of this fanbse use to work so differently. We also kind of had distaste as a whole for people who acted in the know and couldnt tell. We kind of lived to share every little snippet of info we could find. It was like joy to be the first to share it. I think now a little of the joy has been taken away. Its not necessarily a divided fanbase but its definately not a united one. I think the split of SG contributed to how people feel about everything these days. I guess you could imagine Darren saying "Dont waste your money on paying for my FC donate it to charity". I know there was a SG fanclub but Savage Fan was still a free for all board. Whether people are right or wrong they feel the way they do.. and sometimes they express that in anger. I dont blame F/C members they have rules to follow and I respect that. I just think its sad that it has come to this.

I feel exactly the same and completely agree! That's how i remember it as well :/
Does anyone else remember there ever being this level of jealousy and bad feelings after ANY SG online chat? Cos there have been a couple chats over the years that not everyone could get into due to size constraints or the server and all i can remember is people being excited about it and wistful if they DID miss it! Maybe it's because with those chats, people were quick to transcribe the chat almost as it happened and usually it would show up right after the actual chat. I know that the FC ppl aren't allowed to do that but maybe it's that as Kat says and we've lost that "joy of being the first to share" cos i still love doing that whenever i find something SGish that i know people haven't seen yet *sigh*

I agree! Cos you're also a FC member while i'm not so i don't ever stress over FC issues because there is literally very little i could possibly do *chuckle* Whereas with you, because you ARE a member, there is the possibility that people might listen to you and i can understand how much it can hurt to have that potential to help and realizing that it's not working out the way you'd like :/ *comfs Laurie*
